What is a Home Inspectors Report - (HIR) Defect recognition service. A Home Inspectors Report is a report that can be carried out by a Home Inspector to identify defects in a building or to identify poor workmanship by tradesman if suspected. The report is a brief overview of information regarding the physical condition of a property and gardens which Homeowners will be able to rely on as an accurate report. It uses all the skill and knowledge a Home Inspector has acquired, identifies possible or potential defects in the building itself or in work that has been carried out for the homeowner. It will also identify any remedial works that may need to be carried out in order to rectify this. This is generally the most cost effective way of knowing of any underlying concerns at a property and as it does not follow the same legal mandatory conventions of a Home Condition Report such as the use of Government approved software to produce the report and the format it must be published in, and is a succinct and brief report for easy reading, this substantially brings down the cost.
